Written comments may be submitted to comments@highlands.nj.gov through Sunday, June 23, 2024. Please note "Amendment" in the subject line. In addition, six public hearings regarding the proposed amendment have been scheduled. Dates, times and locations are listed below. No pre-registration is required, but space is limited. Attendees will be asked to sign in. Any schedule changes will be announced on this website.
Addendum 2024-2:Highlands Land Use Capability Zone (LUCZ) Map Technical Report Update A revision to the Highlands LUCZ Map Technical Report to reflect updates to the underlying data used to create the map.
Addendum 2024-1: Policy Standards for Warehousing in the New Jersey Highlands Region Provides policy guidance for Hihglands municipalities regarding siting and standards of warehouse facilities in the Highlands Region. Supplement statewide policy guidance on this issue (“Distribution Warehousing and Goods Movement Guidelines,” NJ State Planning Commission, Sept 2022) by providing information specific to the Highlands Region.
Addendum 2019-2: Plan Conformance Procedures Outlines the process by which a municipality or county revises its local master plan and development regulations to bring them into alignment with the goals, requirements, and provisions of the Highlands Act and the RMP.
Addendum 2019-1: Highlands Redevelopment Area Designation Procedures Summarizes the Council’s process for designating a Highlands Redevelopment Area as required by the Highlands Act.
Addendum 2018-1: Procedure for Considering Proposals to Amend the Highlands Regional Master Plan Summarizes the Council's process for reviewing the Regional Master Plan and considering any amendments to it.
